Summer is in Full Swing at TSS
Summer is in full swing at Tilley Show Stables!
The summer started with our new KWPN imports. Congratulations go out to Mandy Hosford on her purchase of Eureka and Debbie Roach on her purchase of Damville B. Denise, Megan Spencer and Debbie went to pick the girls up in Davis, CA after the completion of their USDA and CEM Quarantine.
The ladies made the 1300 mile journey in just two days. It was fun to haul our new Logan horse trailer to UC Davis and be there to personally greet our new horses upon their release. We made it to Davis Thursday evening and enjoyed a lovely dinner at a local restaurant out on the patio. Luck was on our side and the mares were released a few hours earlier than expected which worked out well considering we had a 12 hour journey back home ahead of us. We loved meeting the staff at UC Davis as we have had mares there before and have more to come in the future. It was nice to put a face to the names we talk to over the phone. After traveling the world in an airplane our new mares thought nothing of loading up in to yet another trailer. They came across the Sierra Nevada’s beautifully and arrived in West Bountiful, UT late on a Friday night.
Since the arrival of the mares we have been busy competing and looking for more equine companions for riders. We did find time to host a Tack Sale Saturday June 10th. We made a barn gathering out of it and ate hot dogs and waited for customers to come see what we had. Some of the ladies ended up spending more than they sold, but in the end it all balanced out and we declared it a success! Taylor Sheppick was deemed the biggest “pack rat” as she had over 3 tables full of great used items. Stacey Guerra was a close second to Taylor with most of her items still with their original tags. It was no surprise that our number one sales lady, Cindy Marsh, was our best seller. She got over $700 in tack sold over the phone! Most of all it was a nice opportunity to gather as a barn community and hang out. We look forward to doing it again soon.
